“When children cannot find themselves reflected in the books they read, or when the images they see are distorted, negative, or laughable, they learn a powerful lesson about how they are devalued in the society of which they are a part.”

-Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop

ABOUT

In a world where we are inundated with negative imagery, stereotypes and false history about Black people around the world, our bookstore disrupts the negative dominate narrative that seeks to destroy how we see ourselves and how we see each other.

With the help of my two sons, we read and curate a selection of books that can serve as mirrors (a reflection) for so many, while providing windows (a look

into someone else's world) for all children and communities.

June 18, 2022 we launched our bookstore on wheels to provide a safe, welcoming space to uplift Black life, Black heritage and Black joy! Think bookstore on wheels with ice cream truck energy! Click link below to book our mobile bookstore for your next event.

We are passionate about creating excitement and engagement around reading and equally passionate about inspiring people to build their OWN home libraries! Your book purchases, partnerships, sponsorships and donations will help make it happen!

THANK YOU!

We are so happy to share this journey with us. You're family now.

Providing mirrors for many and windows for all. Welcome to our world!
