About the event
Black Worldschoolers Mobile Bookstore invites families, students, and community members to join us for a special evening with Newbery Award–winning author Derrick Barnes. Known for beloved books like Crown: An Ode to the Fresh Cut and I Am Every Good Thing, Derrick’s stories inspire kids and adults alike.
At this event, Derrick will read from his newest book, The Incredibly Human Henson Blayze, and share the inspiration behind his writing. Families will have the chance to ask questions, meet the author, and get books signed.
