Most people think that superheroes fly like birds, leap tall buildings, and walk through walls, but Yvonne Clark’s superpower was fixing things. As a young Black girl, Yvonne Clark showed engineering promise--a spark!--as she tinkered, built, and made broken things new throughout her family’s house. Despite obstacles placed in front of her as an African American woman in the 1950s and 1960s, she set her sights on NASA and famously fixed Saturn V rocket boosters, among many things.
